Yuki Murata (Toyama, Japan 1991) is a sculptor who comes from a family of carvers of Takaoka lacquerware (Takaoka shikki in Japanese), a traditional product of the Toyama prefecture dating back to the early Edo period (1600-1868) characterized by a vast range of techniques and styles and used in making trays, boxes and other interior items.

Yuki graduated in sculpture at the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2014 and 2016. From 2016 to 2017 he resided in Italy and since 2014 he has taken part in numerous group exhibitions, also participating in many trade fairs in Tokyo, Taipei, Taichung, Singapore and Toyama. Yuki gains insight into woodcarving culture and information technology, creating unique works with the essence of cyberculture, displaying them in solo exhibitions at the Nishida Museum of Fine Arts (Toyama) in 2020 with IN-SCRIBE, the Toyama Glass Museum (Toyama) in 2020 with DE-SCRIBE, and Gallery Muryow (Toyama) in 2020 and 2021 respectively with the A-SCRIBE and CIRCUM-SCRIBE projects. The solo exhibition at LuogoArteContemporanea, TRAN-SCRIBE, is configured as a continuation of the previous ones. Yuki Murata's works are in the public collection of the University Art Museum in Tokyo and the Nishida Museum of Art in Toyama.
